Studying the epistemological perception of gender in STEM fields

Project type

Research and Education

This project explored how co-created narratives and non-formal STEM education can shift perceptions of gender in science. Through interactive workshops rooted in feminist pedagogies, participants engaged in hands-on activities, collaborative labs, and performative exercises that challenged stereotypes and made implicit biases visible. The approach fostered safe, horizontal learning spaces where diverse voices could contribute equally, blending scientific knowledge with traditional, often overlooked, wisdom.

Post-intervention interviews revealed greater awareness, perspective shifts, and a readiness—especially among men—to bring these conversations into their communities. The result: a tested methodology that uses storytelling to spark lasting cultural change toward a more inclusive and equitable science.
